Choosing a tent
Which rooftop tent should I get?
It depends on what matters most to you. The clamshell models are the fastest to open and close. The Expedition Max gives you the most interior space. The Expedition Mini has the smallest footprint when closed, so it suits vehicles where roof real estate is tight.

How many people can sleep in your tents?
Between 2 and 5 adults depending on the model.
How much do the tents weigh?
They range from 115 lbs to 200 lbs. Each product page lists the exact weight for that model.
How long does it take to set up?
Between 30 and 90 seconds depending on the model.
Which models have a skylight?
The Equinox, Summit, Voyage and Expedition models all come with skylights.
Do the tents come with crossbars?
Yes. All models come standard with two crossbars.
Do you sell roof racks?
Yes. You can browse them under Roof Racks, along with bed racks for trucks.
Installation
What do I need to install the tent?
Nothing extra. Every tent ships with the mounting hardware and all the tools you need for the install.
How many people does it take, and how long?
Two strong adults, roughly 5 minutes. Use three if that feels safer with your vehicle height, and never attempt it alone.
If you have a low profile rack such as a Prinsu style, budget up to 25 minutes, since there is limited room to get your hands underneath.

Care and storage
What if my tent is wet when I close it?
Open it and let it dry completely as soon as you get the chance. Trapped moisture leads to mold and mildew, and that damage is not covered by warranty.
Worth knowing that big temperature swings, freeze and thaw especially, cause condensation even in a closed tent. Air yours out every few weeks whether or not you have used it, and more often in humid climates.
Can I leave the tent on my vehicle year round?
Yes. Just open it occasionally so moisture does not build up, even through stretches where you are not camping.
How should I store it off the vehicle?
Keep it at least 2 inches off the ground so moisture cannot wick in from below. Make sure it is fully dry before it goes into storage, and keep it out of the elements if it will sit for weeks or months.

Can I leave my bedding inside?
Yes, and it is one of the main reasons people love these tents. Sheets, pillows and a duvet can stay in place when the tent is closed.
Orders, shipping and warranty
What if a sale starts right after I order?
We will make it right. If you buy at full price and we launch a sale within 10 days, email us and we will refund you the difference.
Send your order number to info@gooverland.ca within 14 days of the sale starting. It applies to the same item you bought, and it cannot be combined with another discount or promotion you already used on that order.
Can I pick up my order?
Yes. Our available pickup locations show at checkout.
I am outside your delivery area, what now?
Email info@gooverland.ca and we will put a shipping quote together for you.
Can I cancel an order?
Yes. Shopify does not refund us the transaction fee on cancelled orders, so a 3 percent cancellation fee is withheld.
Is there a warranty?
Yes, a one year manufacturer warranty on all tents. We also stock spare parts if something needs replacing later. Full details on our warranty page.
About us
Do you have a storefront, or retailers I can visit?
We are an online business, but we work with a handful of retailers and distributors across Canada and Europe who carry our products.
We also attend several shows a year, which is the easiest way to meet the team and climb into the tents before you buy. Dates are on our events page.
Where do you ship from?
We use distribution centres in the Greater Vancouver Area, BC and the Greater Toronto Area, ON.
Where are your tents made and tested?
We work with three manufacturers in China and one in Mexico. All of our testing is done here in Ontario and BC.
