The bed racks take 3-4 weeks to complete from ordering. Pick up available in Chilliwack only, otherwise flat rate shipping $145 CAD.
Designed and manufactured in our partner's Chilliwack shop from 11ga North American steel! Parts are then sent to get a zinc primer and black textured powdercoat finish. Height options available are 8″, 11″, 14″, 16″ and 23″. Racks are 58″ long with three cross bars. These racks are designed to fit most low profile soft rolling tonneau covers, we also have brackets to fit around most folding tonneau covers as well. Racks will work with factory accessory rail or we have a no drill clamping system if you don’t have the rails.
How to choose the correct length of the bed rack?
Measure the length of your accessory bed rail or the length of your inner bed rail lip – our mounting feet have a 3” offset to allow for a longer length than most other racks. Measure the length of your accessory rail and add 6 inches to determine the maximum length of rack that will fit. Most bed rail lips run almost the full length of the bed, we’ve noticed that full-size GMC/Chevy have a shorter length than most others so a short box GMC/Chevy will only allow a max of 50” bed rack. Will rack work with my tonneau cover?
Our design allows the fitment of most low-profile rolling and retracting tonneau covers. We’ve had great success with Tonneau Pro Lo Roll, TruXedo Sentry hard rolling, Bak Revolver X2 hard rolling, TruXedo Pro X15 soft rolling, Gator ETX soft rolling, and many others. If the tonneau mounts to the inside of the bed rail and sits less than ½ inch off the top of the bed rail it will likely work with our racks.
We have a mount to work with most hard flip/folding tonneau covers as well but you will not be able to open the cover. The outer uprights angle is at 15 degrees to match the profile of most truck cabs so this will not allow the cover to open.
I have T-slots on my tonneau cover, will your racks work with these?
We have mounts that will work with several of the new T-slot tonneau covers. So far we have mounts available for the RetraxONE XR and Bak Revolver X4s on Gladiators and Tacoma. If you’re local feel free to stop by for a measurement and we can easily machine mounts to work with your cover. If you’re out of town and can send pictures with some measurements, we can also work off that.
What height of rack should I get?
We have racks ranging from 11 to 23 inches to fit most needs. The shorter the rack, the less your tent or gear will be above the cab, reducing wind resistance. If you have a longer tent than the length of your box you will end up with the tent mounted over the back of the truck. Most tents have a solid aluminum base so even if the tent isn’t supported completely by the rack you won’t have any issues. We’ve seen tents hanging over by more than 12 inches past the end of the rack with no issues. Follow the manufacturers recommendations and you will be fine. If you plan on carrying kayaks/canoes or any other longer items on top of your tent make sure you get a rack tall enough to allow the items to fit over your cab.
Are your racks powder-coated?
Yes, all our racks are sent to powder-coat. The racks are sandblasted and put thru a 4 stage wash/rinse to remove any impurities before the final powder coat process. This sets up the base material for a solid surface for the coating to adhere to. All our racks are coated with a textured black finish. If you’re looking for a special colour this can be done at an additional cost and may add to lead time of your rack.
How long do racks take to make?
We strive to get racks completed within 10-15 business days. We have a couple of powder coat shops we work with and do not have control of the turnaround with them so sometimes this will add a few days to the manufacturing process.
Does your rack come with hardware to install the rack on my truck?
Our racks will come with all hardware to install. You will receive enough stainless carriage bolts, nyloc nuts, washers, and t-nuts/no drill clips to install the rack. We recommend using a copper free anti seize compound on the bolts to avoid galling/tearing of the threads. The stainless hardware is strong but if any contaminants are on the nut/bolt or excessive heat(from using an impact gun) the threads could deform and strip making it difficult to remove. If you feel any resistance when installing stop and remove the nut and bolt. We have had very few issues with this and sent a couple of extra nuts and bolts. If you run into problems please call us and we can send you more hardware or you can purchase new 3/8 carriage bolts/nyloc nuts at your local hardware store.
What is the load rating on your overland rack?
Dynamic(while driving the vehicle) is rated at 450lb, and static(while parked) is rated at 750lb. This is enough capacity to hold a rooftop tent, two fuel cans, an awning, a pair of maxtrax, and more. In-house tested to hold over 1000lb on our 23” rack on a Ram 1500. These racks are solid and will hold more weight than your bed rails can handle! Made from 11ga north American steel and formed to provide a solid platform for your tent, kayak, canoe or any other gear/supplies you can think of.
Can I add other items to your racks?
Our slotted design allows mounting a variety of gear. Shove/axe mounts, rotopax, maxtrax, awnings, hi-lift jack, fire extinguishers, propane tanks, off-road lights, and cameras to name a few. Slots are designed to accept a 3/8 carriage bolt and if the mount you are using comes with smaller hardware all you need is an extra washer to take up any space.
Why is there only a 58 inch length available for Gladiators?
We designed a Gladiator specific mount for these trucks. Our offset mounting system allows a 58 inch length to make use of the entire bed rail. Not only does it look better (in our opinion) but it helps distribute any load on the rack over the full length of the bed rails.
